AFERIY App Privacy Policy

This policy describes how the AFERIY app processes information when you create an account, connect an AFERIY device, use remote control features, or register a warranty.

Information we process

We process account details such as email address, display name, authentication provider identifiers, and security tokens. Device features process device identifiers, model and firmware information, online state, telemetry, settings, and command history. Warranty registration may include purchase details and an image you choose.

Device-related permissions are requested only when needed for a feature you start, not at cold start:

• Bluetooth — to discover, connect to, and control nearby devices when you scan or connect.
• Location — to read nearby Wi-Fi information during device Wi-Fi setup; on Android 11 and below it may also be required for BLE scanning.
• Nearby Wi-Fi (Android) — only during Wi-Fi configuration.
• Photos — only when you upload a purchase receipt for warranty registration.

These permissions are used only after you grant them.

Why we process it

We use this information to authenticate you, bind and control your devices, deliver status and firmware services, provide support and warranty service, secure the service, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Storage, sharing, and retention

Network traffic uses encrypted transport. Authentication credentials are stored using platform-protected storage on the app. We use service providers only where needed to operate authentication, email, hosting, monitoring, and device messaging. Data is retained while your account is active and only as long as necessary afterward for security, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.

Your choices

You can decline optional permissions, update your profile, unbind individual devices, or permanently delete your account in the app. Account deletion removes account data, device bindings, credentials, cloud command history, and stored device state associated with your account, except information that must be retained by law.
